I came to the Center in the midst of a season in which I was struggling to transition into living a more authentic version of myself. Immediately, I knew that the methodology Jack and Fred had developed over the course of years was exactly what I had spent nearly 20 years of my young adult and middle adult years looking for to help me learn to love myself and live authentically.
As a deeply spiritual person trained to do spiritual direction, I have discovered that the method of be the adult, banish the voices of the inner other, and nurture the child compliments my own professional work. So often the voices of religiosity and institutional religion become a voice of an inner other. Often this voice speaks in tones and words that are contrary to the voice of IAm. IAm is a voice of wholeness. The church is often a voice that feeds us half truths and negativity that cause us to stumble. I am called to help people experience and engage their spirituality in the world beyond this particular voice of the other.
I am able to work with individuals and small groups in sessions of listening to help them to find IAm within themselves and the world around them. As the number of my connections with those who resonate with this type of listening grow, group “worship” will be offered.
My listening is also trauma sensitive so that if there are those who, like me, need a space to wrestle with hurts and struggles of previous connections to institutional religions, I would be able to provide that service as well.
I am comfortable working with members of the LGBTQIA community. I am also comfortable working with clients whose spirituality is outside of Christianity and even outside of traditional religions
